ServeArthan Annual Corporate Symposium was organized by the students of MBA – Services Management of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai at Taj Land Ends – Bandra.

In both these eventful years the students have gained deep insights on the services sector with talks rendered by distinguished luminaries from various service industries like hospitality, healthcare, consulting, infrastructure, financial services and logistics world on the themes:

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Bhavesh Gandhi who was the Chief Guest and Director & Chairman of SKIL Infrastructure Ltd. & Dr. Ramesh Bhatt, Dean of School of Business Management, NMIMS. The distinguished speakers for the event were:

·         Mr. Partha Chatterjee (Wholetime Director & Chief Marketing Officer of KEYS Hotels)

·         Dr. Rajesh Ingle (AVP Brand Strategy – Wadhawan Holdings),

In line with the theme of the event, the discussions centered on exploring the huge potential of Indian service industry, challenges posed and leadership competencies required in tackling the same. The speakers presented beyond facts and figures and offered possible roadmap to achieve the growth objective.

The event was distributed in three sessions: Service sector in India – Outlook for Future, World-class Service Performance – Voices from the Industry, Opportunities & Challenges in Service Sector. The views shared by the dignitaries created a wonderful potpourri of knowledge of present & future scope of Indian service industry and thereby greatly enlightening the audience. As Newton said “I was able to look ahead because I stood on the shoulder of the giants” is perhaps vicariously realized by the time the daylong event concludes.  

 

In the backdrop of the great economic meltdown, ServeArthan 2009 aims in eliciting the sagacity of industrial honchos to deliberate on future course of the Indian service industry.
